Noodling around after church this morning, I listened to the tones I was getting and was reminded of who was missing from the bass documentary I wrote about yesterday: Jaco Pastorius.

To be fair, I can easily appreciate that a 60 minute programme can’t cover everyone who might merit consideration (see, for example, the list of notable bassists at Wikipedia). However, given the influence of Jaco, I’m surprised he didn’t even get a passing mention. In fact, I don’t think there was anything on the topic of fretless basses.

Never mind. It was only an hour long and perhaps this suggests room for a sequel.
