I mentioned yesterday that I’ve been watching lots of woodworking videos on YouTube. The consequence is that, every time I log on, it gives me a lot more woodworking videos to pick from.

I guess the algorithm is trying to serve up what I’m interested in but I wonder if it is a bit too zealous? I’m having to make an effort to hunt down some other topics, like art and music, to make sure I’m not only getting workworking stuff. I can see how the algorithm makes a certain amount of sense… but also how it can easily reinforce the ‘bubble’ problem where the Internet conspires to make you think there are plenty of other likeminded people who share your interests and views. Whatever they are!
