Last September, Jane and I visited Staithes on the North Yorkshire coast and spend sometime sketching down by the harbour. Today, at the Oxford Summer School, I concentrated on reworking one of the views I captured:

I have some tall canvases waiting to be painted on so I reworked the original into a more vertical format. Tomorrow, I’ll see if I can work this study up into a full version and, if that works smoothly, create left and right panels to form an overall triptych.
