I recently discovered a fascinating, if somewhat niche, computer shortcut. If you use the Opera web browser on a Mac and double tap with two fingers on the touch pad, you can zoom in and out of what is under the cursor. It doesn’t appear to work with Firefox on the same computer and neither does it work with other numbers of fingers or tapping patterns (although it doesn’t have to be your first two fingers).

Yes, now you ask, I have experimented a bit. I discovered it by chance, happening to tap my computer as I got set to move from one task to the next, but this could turn out to be quick a useful trick, just as long as I remember to use it enough in the next few days to get it embedded in my head.
