The local Aldi store I mentioned last month has now opened and is proving to be convenient, particularly since Tesco has now started charging for most its click and collect slots. So I now I have a store that is just a short walk or cycle ride away, small enough to walk round quickly without too much variety but with a good stock of most of the regular staples.

So far, I’ve found a couple of things it doesn’t appear to stock – strong bread flour and piccalilli. However, for fruit, milk and other things, it looks like it is going to be very helpful.
