Back to the Nikon D40 today and back up to date with my 52photos project. Jane needed a passport sized photo for work and, since we couldn’t wait for enough natural light, I got the flash unit (SB-600) out. Once I’d found some working batteries, I got a decent shot for her and then thought I’d find another subject I could share as part of my project.

I made the flower a few weeks ago as part of the process of wrapping a present and now it is adding a splash of colour to the living room. By framing it like this, against neutral colours and smooth curves, I think I have managed to capture some of the vivid energy of this little orange explosion.
