I’m afraid this isn’t news that I’ve had a major scientific breakthrough in my kitchen. Rather, I went to the International Christmas Lunch at work today, a bring and share meal that celebrates the fact the department spans the globe in the places its members call home. Each item was to be labelled with what it was, details to help people with food preferences and allergies and also country of origin.
I took some polenta and wild rice bread. So, let’s see, er, … modern British fusion cuisine. I admit that is a bit of a catch all term although, to be fair, it is a good representation of the fact that my home cooking habitually blends all sorts of influences. When it comes to cooking, this kind of thing is my daily bread, my meat and my drink!
