I was chuffed with myself at house group tonight. Jane was leading the session and wanted to sing a Taizé song so she gave me the nod to kick it off. Once we had finished, I couldn’t resist checking my starting note using the tuner on my phone and I’d only gone and nailed the D# required.

I know that isn’t the most amazing thing in the world. It wasn’t, for example, walking through fire and not getting burned (yes, we were studying Daniel chapter 3). At church, I’ve been known to start songs in entirely the wrong key even after playing an intro. I often struggle even with relative pitch let alone perfect pitch so I think I can delight in this brief moment of accuracy.
