It was wonderful to finally have a trumpet at tonight’s Red Lion jazz jam. I’ve nothing against sax players and rather enjoyed the appearance of a quartet of guitarists but I can’t remember the last time the jam had a trumpeter taking part. It has a beautiful sound for jazz and it helped that the player, Chris, was a consummate master of the instrument.
