Normally when that phrase comes to mind on seeing a bass video that catches my attention the answer is “a lot”. I regularly play a six string bass, I reckon I could find my way round a seven string model and even twelve doesn’t seem to excessive, whether twelve different ones or four sets of triple courses. Well, maybe a touch too much for most situations but I’d give it a go. I have to admit that I hadn’t thought of going to the other extreme though:
