I’m glad I took some more shots of the garden last week; after rain and wind, we are already several steps further through autumn and towards winter. You can see the whole set on Flickr and compare different views across time. The most drastic since the last additions though has been mediated by us in the front garden:
We have moved our compost bin nearer the house. As well as being a chance to grab the good material from the bottom, which has transmuted cutting and kitchen scraps into rich soil, it will be easier to top up during the winter without having to tiptoe across any muddy ground. You can also see that our medlar tree now has amazing yellow foliage; next month, that will probably be all gone.
