Hodge Podge

Eating our lunch in the garden yesterday, we met a new resident for the first time:

Hedgehog in the undergrowth

Hedgehog

We think he has been there for a while as we have heard some noises from the back corner before. There are some bundles of sticks down there and a spikey Mahonia bush protecting it and we had thought it might be a blackbird’s nest. However, we got a glimpse of a little hedgehog and he was out again in the evening, hopefully doing a good job of keeping the slugs and snail populations down.

Cutting that hedgehog shaped hole at the bottom of our side gate was obviously a worthwhile idea!
