Compare this to the January photo in yesterday’s post; this is the equivalent view of the back garden from yesterday morning. You can see more things sprouting up and blooming although we have tidied away most of the skeletons of last year’s plants.
At this time of year, and certainly with the glorious weather we’ve enjoyed this week, things change very quickly in the garden. Part of that is human intervention – Jane has tamed the riot of Nigella damascena and I’ve pruned the plum tree (Prunus domestica ‘Herman’) now that it is beginning to show leaves. However the bulk of the work is happening without us and one of the delights of the season is observe the myriad miracles of growth that can be seen each day.
