Technically I wasn’t at a high church service this morning (a term which is replete with meaning in ecclesiology) but I was up on the roof at St Clement’s again, checking the gutters for leaves. It wasn’t too bad up there although we probably need another clean out in a week or two to set us up for the winter.
However, it was a glorious day; clear blue skies and, with many of the leaves down from the surrounding trees, wider views than I had in the summer. Getting up the roof is another chore but one that I must confess that I see as something of a privilege.
