Our visiting gang of Bombus hypnorum are still up in the eaves and not causing any problem. In fact, it is quite delightful to watch them zooming down to the garden or to spot a bee flying from a flower back up to the temporary shelter they have taken in a spare spot of our house.
The only downside is that we also see more dead bees on the paths. I don’t think they are very long lived creatures so this probably isn’t cause for alarm but, being near a nest increases what we observe of their mortality. Those rubber sandals I was talking about yesterday are proving to be handy to protect my feet!
