I’m giving a short talk at the Oxford University Web Special Interest Group this afternoon on the above title. The nutshell version is that websites don’t have to be all-singing, all-dancing; there is also place for simple ones that can be connected into other processes and, by providing a useful set of tools, make many tasks much simpler.
For me, it represents some thoughts that have recently crystallised. Hopefully for others, it will also serve as a catalyst for new ideas (with a clever crowd, there is always a certain apprehension that they will have heard it all before) and there will be enough humour in there to engage without overwhelming the central message.
