At coffee this morning, one of my colleagues mentioned a programme she watched last night on the dangers of cycling. I tracked it down — War on Britain’s Roads — and watched it this lunchtime. What a harrowing programme!

Using footage from tiny cameras, mounted on both vehicles and cycle helmets, it contains a scenes of aggression, near misses and some nasty looking crashes. Compared to this, my cycle commuting career has been very tame but I’ll even more careful tonight.
