No, not the plucking hand technique. On Saturday afternoon, I managed to slice the first finger on my left hand while chopping jerusalem artichokes into little chips; a split second of inattention but a pretty deep cut. Ouch!
I still managed to play at church on Sunday — mandolin in the morning and bass in the afternoon — though by virtue of using the other three fingers on my left hand. Once or twice I forgot but the sharp pain was a quick reminder to adjust.
I now have the cut sitting under a “hydrocolloidal” plaster. This should keep the wounded area moist but clean while it heals, in theory increasing the speed and limiting the scar.
