Apparently it is 30 years since the Sony Walkman was launched. An article on the BBC website puts one of these devices in the hands of a 13 year-old and he provides a fascinating comparison with modern portable music technology.

I remember being a 13 year-old and thinking walkmans were very cool but I agree with the BBC’s young correspondent that they don’t really stack up compared to modern technology and I’m glad to be in the 21st Century!
