For all the self-portraits I have taken (several sessions of 7days and my year-long fiftytwo project) I have precious few that aren’t “wacky” in one way or another. I suppose this one, with an un-ironed rugby shirt, still isn’t that formal but would do in a pinch.
I used my bathroom as the setting – lots of light reflective surfaces and plain walls. One thing I was reminded of was that different light sources produce different colour casts; I was using the light in the bathroom and a flash unit. I managed to limit this by applying graduated blue and magenta overlays where the bathroom light fell (to counter yellow and green components) but you can still see a colour cast in some of the shadows.
