It is taking me a while to work through my backlog of photos because I can rarely resist the opportunity to apply a bit of post-processing to tweak the results. Some pictures, like the crocosmia image I published yesterday could have benefited from some work but came out well directly from the camera but others, like the shot above, call out to me for a little rotation, cropping, colour adjustment and sharpening before I unveil them.
This shot shows Balalaika, a folk group who play Russian and Klezmer music. It was my first chance to hear a bass balalaika live – a very punchy sound with a sharp attack and short sustain.
Hopefully I will resist taking too much time on tweaking the pictures Jane took of The Elusive Teeth’s set and get those online too before the event itself is a distant memory!
