We came out to the car after visiting a friend on Thursday evening to find that someone had stolen our rear number plate. I suppose it could have fallen off but, especially judging by the marks in the dirt behind where the plate had been, I don’t think so.

The incident was swiftly reported to the police; if I start getting speeding tickets and the like, I want to be sure that I have official support for claims that it wasn’t me. We also have a replacement plate, which I am going to go out and fit later this morning.

If you see a car with a wonky rear numberplate, that will probably be me!
