Knowing Steve Lawson, solo-bassist extraordinaire, is probably the closest I’ve come to knowing a celebrity; he has sold his albums around the world but the average person would probably still say “who?”. Keeping an eye on his forum is not about being a fanboy but because Steve is a nexus for several people I know and others who have some tastes in common, making it an interesting place to hang out. It is all about connections.

I also follow Steve’s blog, which is frequently a good source of inspiration on ideas at least as far-ranging as those I cover in my own jottings.
