I have treasured my “Don’t Mess with Texas” mug ever since I bought it on a visit to the Lone Star state five years ago; it is twice as large as a normal mug and great for morning coffee. Alas, on Saturday morning I dropped something on it and it cracked.
The plan was to give it a new life as novelty plant pot but, having been washed up, it got put back in it’s normal place. It wasn’t until I lifted the mug full of coffee up and noticed the circle round the bottom where some had leaked out that I remembered what was wrong. Next time, I will put it down by the back door.
Once I drill a hole in the bottom for drainage, it should be easier to remember. Or more disastrously wet when the hot water goes in!
