Booting into my new Linux install this evening, I spotted that XFCE (my preferred desktop environment) has now got an animated loading graphic for the its Ubuntu distribution: a cartoon rodent running inside a rotating Ubuntu logo.

It’s not quite the same as getting a new pet hamster but, as free mice go, it is pretty cool.
