Today’s a big day for Hither Green Baptist Church as we hold a farewell service for our pastor, Richard Blyth, who’s moving onto a new ministry in Cambridge after two decades working on re-establishing and building our church.
That means a busy day, with two services, a lunch and loads of guests from all over the place! It also means that the church is entering into a new phase in it’s life: a type of road we haven’t travelled together before. As an elder of the church, it also has a big impact on me!
The bluebell picture is not really apropos anything to do with the day; it’s just one that caught my eye from one of the photographers (MBerry) I follow on Flickr. I’m just spending a few minutes relaxing and preparing for the day and the image reminded me that it is bluebell season in the UK. Click on the picture and you’ll find a carpet of hundreds of bluebells from around the world!
