I’m not sure if the couple of times I’ve played some jazz sets at church count as establishing my jazz footing in the East Midlands. There was some good music made but with familiar faces and for a familiar crowd. Tonight I got to play with a small combo for a corporate type event at a hotel in Nottingham so definitely another step in putting down some wider roots into the local jazz soil.

As an upshot (as well as another double bass gig under my belt) I’ve got a lead on a jazz jam in Nottingham and I might have another gig in the diary.
