After weeks of dry weather, the rain is finally here in Loughborough. This photo was from a few minutes ago in the initially heavy downpour but it has softened a bit now. I’ll go and check my water capture system in a few minutes but, meanwhile, I’m enjoying the aroma of petrichor (the smell of rain on dry ground).
It means I don’t have to take a watering trip to the allotment… and it reminds me of those in the world who have been waiting months rather than mere weeks for water from the sky.
