My final piece from the Observation to Abstraction class added another colour to the previous palette of Pthalo Green, Permanent Rose and Transparent Orange: Peach Black. Apparently this was originally produced from burnt peach stones and it is a warm, strong black that mixes well. By this point in the afternoon, I was in a bit of a rush to get things completed so it was really a shortcut to get darker tones although it was a lovely colour to work with.
The particular twist on this one, apart from the colour, was that I painted it using my non-dominant hand as a deliberate strategy to avoid falling into familiar ruts; an exercise to try again sometime when I am in not such a rush.
