My chosen photo for this week’s addition to my fiftytwo self portrait project is the large image shown above, representing me getting up and getting ready to face the world. I have trimmed it slightly so it now exactly fits a 3:2 ratio, enhanced the colours to increase contrast and sharpened the foreground a touch but otherwise it is as it came out of the camera.

The other three images were actually taken afterwards but the story is best told reading them in reverse, from everything out of focus through to wakefulness.
