Today’s harvest has come from both the back garden and the allotment. In the back garden we picked probably the last of the tomatoes (there are a few green ones which might get kept if they start shifting colour very soon) and a big fat squash (unknown variety!) from the canal end. At the allotment, I came back with a head of cabbage, a few leeks (unimpressive in size but, as we were given the seedlings, everything is a bonus) and some carrots which proved to generally be larger than expected.
I’ve also been doing some weeding inside the veg cage at the allotment and getting some of that weeded ground covered up with leaves (fallen from next door’s grapevine) and the last of the woodchip batch we got earlier this year. I’ll be getting more leaves and hopefully more wood chippings up there soon.
