Reusing Forscore scores

I had a fairly easy first rehearsal with the Charnwood Concert Band tonight because, out of the three pieces we worked on, I only had the music for one of them! I’ve started playing with them more regularly because Jane is also trying out with them. It gives a long evening, with the Training Band rehearsal directly beforehand, but if Jane stays on it makes sense for me to hang around as well.

A lot of the music is shared with the Charnwood Symphonic Wind Orchestra, for which I have almost the complete pad scanned into the Forscore app I use on my iPad. I’ve realised that I can reuse a score in more than once place by exploiting the bookmarks feature. So far, I’ve mainly used that to create, erm, bookmarks in longer scores so, for example, I can jump to individual pieces across the complete bass score for Legally Blonde.

However, it seems quite happy for me to also “bookmark” a whole piece so I am also able to have virtual second copy of the duplicate pieces, correctly named for the CCB numbering sequence and without actually physically creating another copy of the file. That won’t fill all the gaps but it is certainly getting me a long way ahead.
