This is today’s harvest from the allotment – a squash (weighing almost a kilo!), a handful of French beans and a small pile of potatoes. I’ve had squash and beans from the allotment before but this is the first time I’ve brought back this type of potato.
They were bought at a reduced price (99p for a bag of seed potatoes) and each of the bags I grew them in had three seeds to get it started. The harvest isn’t massive but I’ve already increased the total weight of the whole initial amount of seed potatoes so I think I’m going to be quids in. I don’t know yet what this particular variety tastes like but they look fantastic, both in colour and in the relatively good condition of the skin, so I’m hopeful.
