This afternoon I popped up to the allotment to add bird netting to some of the structures we have up there. My brassicas are protected with denser netting already, to keep butterflies from laying eggs on them but I don’t need that to protect the beans I want to plant out nor the onions. The latter were okay under the denser netting but I just needed a bit more at either end as several of the onions have been mysteriously popping out of their holes and I suspect that is likely to have been the work of a curious bird.

Everything also got a good water and, tomorrow, I hope to get the beans in.
