One of the mod cons we have been without for the past week is hot water. We briefly had it in the new house but then something went wrong on the boiler and we had to get someone in. Then there was waiting for a part, then the wrong part came but, finally, it was resolved this afternoon. Cold showers may have been invigorating but a hot shower and other hot running water are luxuries for which we give much thanks!
