I’m typing this with chilly fingers, after walking back from church this afternoon. In part, that is because the skies have cleared, revealing a beautiful sky after earlier overcast and wet conditions. Another way of saying that is that the blanket of cloud has been removed and so, with little help from the winter sun, warmth has been escaping!
However, I exacerbated the matter by carrying back the banjo and an instrument stand. The banjo is effectively a metal-cased drum with a neck and, even though this one has a wooden back (resonator), there’s still a lot of exposed metal to quickly drop in temperature. The stand was also made of metal.
Perhaps gloves would have been a good idea!
