Here is another of my recent(ish) sketches. Thorpe Acre church was originally built in the mid-19th century as a fairly small and simple structure. In the mid-1980s, it was substantially expanded to meet the needs of a growing congregation. Here, I’m sitting in the east wing, which was the chancel area of the original design, looking past the vicar (mid-sermon) and towards the west wing extension, which is not quite as traditionally neo-gothic as this sketch suggests.

It was a bright day so, although the Sun hadn’t reached that far round for the morning service, it was quite a silhouetted view, decorated with the nearest colour I had to poppy-red in my sketch box collection of felt-tips.
