In a short while, I’ll be packing up my double bass ready to head out a support a Blues Service being held at Holy Trinity, Headington Quarry tonight.
What is one of those? It is an hour set aside to hear some of the songs and reflect on some of the stories of the pioneers of gospel blues like Blind Willie Johnson. It won’t be quite like regular worship service but it will involve some congregational singing and the encouragement to reflect on what God is saying through the voices of some of those who have served him.
It runs from 6-7pm tonight; time to go and get my last bit of practise done.
