We only visited two venues today although the first, St Mary’s in Kidlington (#372) apparently had 24 different artists contributing while the second, John Somerscales on the opposite side of Kidlington (#373) was a solo show.
Of the many different painting styles I saw, I think I appreciated John’s most – a bit neater than the way I approach things but plenty of joyful revelling in the beautiful effects that watercolour can create when you give it some freedom. If you want variety, though, St Mary’s has to win – I lost count of the number of different artists I noticed but there were some lovely pieces there too in a range of media.
