I’ve started my tomato plants for 2019. Four varieties:
- Solanum lycopersicum ‘Ananas’
- Solanum lycopersicum ‘Artisan Purple’
- Solanum lycopersicum ‘Moneymaker’
- Solanum lycopersicum ‘Orange Rapture’
I’ve grown the middle two before and both seem to be pretty dependable. ‘Orange Rapture’ is from seeds harvested from a supermarket purchased variety. It is possible they won’t be fertile but it seems worth the risk (I’ll get some ‘Golden Sunrise’ going if nothing shows in the next 2-3 weeks). ‘Ananas’ is a new variety to me. I was a bit surprised to find that the packet only had 11 seeds but it does promise a money back guarantee if not 100% satisfied, so I’ll be watching those ones keenly too.
