Yesterday evening, Jane and I picked up a few new light bulbs. The one in my bedside light had started taking an ominously long time to switch on and there were a couple of others that weren’t working brilliantly. Yes, I think that’s the right word.
The difference was night and day – we replaced the one in the kitchen (very slow to warm up and not massively bright even at the best of times) with a low wattage LED one rated at 100W equivalent light in old money. Gosh! It comes on immediately and lights the room superbly.
We could have done with upgrading it years ago although, of course, we are benefiting from the fact that 2018 lighting technology is steps on from whenever it was we purchased that previous bulb.
