Not that many years ago, Jane and I went to see Creation Theatre’s production of A Christmas Carol, which was excellent. We were a bit disappointed to see it had come round again already (rustling back through the blog… Christmas season 2011 and we went in early 2012) but we enjoy our tradition of a Christmas theatre trip and decided to take a punt on them not doing exactly the same thing again.

I can announce that one worked out well. We went to the matinee performance yesterday afternoon and soaked in a performance that was recognisably the same story, equally excellent and yet completely different in the staging of it. Creation displayed plenty of creativity throughout, producing another excellent “cover” of Dickens’ wonderful and conscience-pricking story.
