As presaged by Wednesday’s posting, tonight’s String Project gig was unlike any other we have done. We pride ourselves on always having a surprise or two up our sleeve but regular band members were outnumbered by guests tonight on the stage. And, all in all, it sounded pretty good, certainly to the point of meeting the audience’s desire for something they could dance along to.

I caught a couple of the other acts too. My ears are ringing a little after Osprey, Darren and the Beard of Destiny performed their closing set: disco funk performed with hard rock tones (and towards hard rock levels). Again, a fascinating combination and a great example of the kind of gems that Jeremy turns up for his Donnington Community Centre events.
