For last night’s String Project rehearsal, we were joined by accordion and mandolin. This (probably) isn’t signalling an entirely new direction for the band but we have a gig at the Donnington Doorstep Fundraiser on Saturday and half of the current line-up can’t make it. If this was a gig about promoting the band, that might be grounds not to do it but the purpose is to create music to support a good local cause so we’re pressing on.

And, I have to admit, that it is a brilliant opportunity to hear familiar songs cast a little differently and thus create something precious, fresh and new.
