I think this gorgeous kale is actually called ‘Scarlet’ but it looks purple to me:

I took this and a number of other pictures on a visit to RHS Rosemoor in Devon shortly after Christmas (click on the image for the full set) but have only just published them to my Flickr account so I am counting this one towards my 52photos project. The image was taken with the kit 18-55mm lens and would certainly have potential to tweak but this is the image straight out of the camera (via a 3 month delay!).
