Will Say

Something that has started to irk me on news broadcasts in recent months is reporting about what a politician will say in Parliament or some other meeting later that day. Precognition? Pre-prepared statements more like.

Has this only recently been the case or am I just noticing it since getting into the habit of using the radio to wake up to rather than a squawking alarm? Would it really hurt to wait until after the words have actually been said? I would be quite happy to hear reports on what I missed yesterday rather than what I’m going to miss today. Anyway, what if a politician wanted to speak from the heart about something they are passionate about and veered off the script?

Yes, I may be getting grumpy but I’m still an optimist!
