Tonight I will be navigating up river to the Trout Inn in Lechlade. Lechlade is generally regarded as the town where the River Thames becomes deep enough for water-based travel; you can meander all the way down to London from here. However, I’m not going because of a new-found interest in waterways but to dep in the house band for the regular jazz jam held up there on the last Sunday of each month (from 8pm, if you are in the area).
Of course, with the change of clocks, it will be fully dark by the time I get up; I’ll have to make sure to leave myself plenty of time for the navigation aspect of the evening!
