Tyntesfield

It was probably a bit ambitious to try and get a look at the Tyntesfield, a National Trust property near Bristol, when we were driving back from Devon today. Or, at least, if we do it again, we need to set off after breakfast rather than after lunch. As it was, we arrived on site by about 4:30pm, so we missed the mini music festival and just had time to take a stroll down to the house and back before the site closed.

However, at least we succeeded in adding it to our mental map. It is a location a bit to far from our regular route to the South West to just pop in to use the loos and stretch our legs (one of the benefits of NT membership with some of the properties) but we have ascertained that there is plenty there to reward a more leisurely visit in future. The other bit benefit of NT membership is that you don’t have to walk round for hours to get your money’s worth as long as you plan your longer distance travels and day excursions to take in a number of different properties through the year.
