Over the last few days the British press has been dominated by headlines of people stepping down from responsibilities. Goodbye Boris. Goodbye Nigel. Goodbye Chris. I’m not sure that Chris Evans walking away away from Top Gear really belongs with the other two but the zeitgeist is clearly change.
Still, I’m pleased to see Jeremy Corbyn is holding on. He does have the minor problem of a significant proportion of the parliamentary Labour party being set against him but I think he still has huge support from the rank and file membership. Maybe we need our major political parties dissolved and new ones formed. Then we can have a General Election and that can give a second chance on deciding whether to press the Article 50 button following the referendum?
