Actually, I think this is a fascinating idea. Firstly it explores the idea of the mechanically augmented human. Secondly, it also has plenty of potential application not just for drummers who fancy adding further complexity to their beats but also for those who are missing or have lost limbs and would appreciate tools to help them cope with a world largely designed around two arms and two legs.

And, for drummers who are mainly interested in the potential for music making, I’m guessing it doesn’t take any less practise to work with a tool like this than to work without it!
